Hotel Son Sant Jordi is actually a cluster of seventeenth-century rural villas located in Pollensa, in the north of Mallorca. By choosing this accommodation in the heart of town you'll be at the epicentre of one of the island's greatest culinary showcases. Our restaurant specialises in Mediterranean cuisine, while our salads, meats and wines, in particular, are sure to impress.
The breakfast buffet features carefully selected fresh produce, such as homemade jams, freshly-picked fruit, espresso coffee, assorted regional cheeses and cured meats, cereals, yoghurt, honey, dates, olive oil, fresh tomatoes, juices, a range of teas and herbal teas, typical Mallorcan bread, crusty bread rolls, freshly-baked baguettes, the famous Mallorcan ensaimadas (pastries filled with sweet cream, dark chocolate, white chocolate, etc.), pain au chocolat, fresh-from-the-oven mini croissants, assorted mini sandwiches, and more. As for hot dishes, we offer scrambled eggs, bacon, fresh sausages or mini-burgers, accompanied by seasonal vegetables (courgettes, peppers, mushrooms, aubergines, etc.). What's more, the restaurant serves a fixed or à la carte menu, as well as banquets for special events and celebrations.
October to April: Monday to Sunday from 6.30pm to 10.00pm (dinner)
May to September: Monday to Sunday from 1.00pm to 10.00pm (lunch and dinner)
You really shouldn't leave Pollensa without trying sopas mallorquinas (broth with bread or vegetables), trempó (pepper and tomato salad), tumbet (tomato, aubergine and potatoes served as a garnish), pa amb oli (Mallorca's take on the Catalan tomato bread and usually served with cheese or cold meats such as sobrasada or botifarrons) and the famous ensaimadas (pastries with or without filling).
As for meats, signature dishes include slow-roasted pork and lamb or delicious one-pots such as freixura (offal stew). There's also a great variety of rice dishes (Mallorcan variations on paella) and fish (baked fillets, dolphinfish, stuffed calamari, and so on). Desserts also play a central role in Pollensan cuisine, with much more than just ensaimadas on offer: gató (almond sponge) or robiols and crespells (pastries commonly eaten at Easter), which can be accompanied by Mallorcan wines and traditional local liqueurs.
And if we remember that our restaurant has an outdoor terrace and garden, savouring all these dishes will prove to be an even more pleasurable experience. We serve dishes using fresh produce of the day and even make our own jams. Guests with allergies, intolerances or special diets need not worry, as we have dishes specially thought out for them.
