"La Patrona"The story tells that in a sunrise of the year 1550 , the corsair troops liedered by Captain Dragut entered in the village but the hero Joan Mas and all the valiant men of Pollença defeated them. On the 2nd of August, Pollença commemorates that day with a mock battle between Moors and Christians . People of Pollença thanks their Patron Saint “Mare de Déu dels Ángels” for her protection
“La Fira”Pollença grows maintaining its roots , rich in traditions and customs which have survived the passing of time.
Every second Sunday of the month of November , the streets and squares of Pollença dress up of party to show the innovated spirit of the craftsmen and the participation from the farming/cattle/manufacturer sectors
Easter PeriodThe most representative image of this town is “El Calvari”, a mountain with 365 steps end at to a little church at the top with a view of all the municipality, where the procession of the “Davallament” in Easter takes place.
"Sant Antoni"On 17 th January , Pollença celebrates « Sant Antoni » , to pay homage to the Saint Protector of the animals. the evening before that day , Pollença celebrates a traditional popular festivity with a Bonfire Contest in the streets of the village where takes place a performance by the songs with the jovial rhythm of the “xeremies“ and “ximbombes“.
In the morning there is the "Traditional Float Parade" and "Beneïdes “, where the peasants take their animals to the Church to bless them .The day finalizes by carrying a pine tree from the wood of “ Ternelles “ to the square “Plaça Vella”. In the middle of this square , the tree is stood with an animal at the top with the purpose that a young boy climbs it to take the prize
